Sambhar Powder is an essential part of south indian lentil based sambhar without which sambhar is incomplete and which is all time favourite dish of everyone, it is very well combined with rice & papadam, dosa, idli, medu vada etc.
So, today I am going to share the recipe of homemade sambhar podi which can be easily made at home. Sambhar Podi is made with very less ingredients using fenugreek seeds, coriander seeds, chana dal, dry red chilli, curry leaves and oil. The shelf life of sambhar powder is long lasting and can be stored in an air tight container and can also be kept in a zip-lock bag in the refrigerator.

Ingredients:
1. Fenugreek Seeds (Methi) - 100 gms
2. Chana Dal - 250 gms
3. Coriander Seeds (Dhaniya) - 1/2 kg
4. Dry Red Chilli - 250 gms
5. Curry Leaves - 1 bunch
6. Oil - 3 tbsp
Method:
Step 1) In a large kadai heat 3 tbsp oil, add fenugreek seeds fry it on a low flame.
Step 2) After 1-2 minutes add chana dal fry it on a low flame till the colour changes.
Step 3) Now add coriander seeds and fry it till it becomes tender.
Step 4) Then add dry red chillies and curry leaves.
Fry it for 5 minutes.
Step 5) Let it cool down and grind it in a mixer till fine powder.
Home Made Sambhar Podi (Powder) Ready!!
Step 6) Store it in air tight container.
