Ingredients:
1. Tender Jackfruit - 1 Whole
2. Grated Coconut - 1 Cup
3. Onion- 1
4. Green Chilli - 2 to 3
5. Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
6. Dry Red Chilli (Whole) - 3
7. Urad Dal - 1 tsp
8. Curry Leaves - 5 to 10
9. Coconut Oil / Vegetable Oil - 3 tbsp
10. Water as needed
11. Salt as needed
Method:
Step 1) First, cut jackfruit into small pieces (cubes) and remove thorn.
Now add jackfruit in pressure cooker add salt, water and pressure cook for 1 whistle.
Open the pressure cooker lid once the pressure has reduced.
Step 2) Now open the pressure cooker lid and crush the jackfruit with a spatula.
Do not mash it.
Step 3) For Making Coconut Mixture
Take grated coconut, onion and green chillies crush it.
Do not make it paste.
Step 4) In a kadai heat 3 tbsp coconut oil / vegetable oil.
Add mustard seeds let it splutter, then add urad dal, dry red chilli (whole), curry leaves let it splutter well .
Now add the crushed jackfruit, mix well then add coconut mixture and mix well.
Cover with a lid for 5 minutes.
Delicious Jackfruit Thoran Ready!!
Step 5) Serve hot with steamed rice and sambhar.
